Locals who have seen Spring and 5th streets transform from gritty to gentrifying in the last decade are quick to express gratitude for the police. But a dose of distrust has arisen since a midday shooting by an undercover officer.

And just yesterday while walking past 5th and Spring I saw a woman being arrested at that shithole The Down and Out. Her hand was bandaged and she was dripping blood everywhere. It was really red.
